5 Things Every Service Business Landing Page Needs
Most service business websites lose leads because of 5 common mistakes. Here's what your page actually needs to convert visitors into customers.
Most service businesses get a website, wait a few months, and then wonder why the phone isn't ringing. The problem usually isn't the business — it's the page. Here are the five things that separate a page that generates leads from one that doesn't.
1. A Clear Headline That Says What You Do
Visitors decide whether to stay or leave within three seconds. If your headline says something vague like 'Welcome to our website', you've already lost them. Your headline should say exactly what you do, for whom, and where. Example: 'Licensed Electrician in Lisbon — Fast Emergency Response'.
2. A Contact Form Above the Fold
Most visitors won't scroll to the bottom to find your contact form. Put it front and centre, or at minimum make it one click away from the hero section. The fewer steps between 'I need this service' and 'I've sent an enquiry', the more leads you'll get.
3. Social Proof
New visitors don't know you. Testimonials, client counts, and years of experience reduce the perceived risk of reaching out. Even three genuine reviews displayed prominently can significantly increase your conversion rate.
4. A Mobile-First Design
Over 70% of local service searches happen on mobile. If your page doesn't look great on a phone — small text, buttons that are hard to tap, images that don't scale — you're losing the majority of your potential leads before they even read your headline.
5. Fast Loading
Studies consistently show that every extra second of load time reduces conversions. Heavy images, third-party scripts, and slow hosting all hurt you. A simple, fast-loading page outperforms a slow, fancy one every time.
The good news
All five of these are built into PageBuilder by default. Every page is mobile-first, lightweight, includes a contact form in the hero section, and has a testimonials section ready to go.
